Our Services
BAYC's services are designed to provide a holistic and systemic approach that recognizes that each youth already has the capabilities and strength necessary to become a positive agent of change. We offer the opportunity for program participants to receive numerous individualized treatment options while remaining in the community.
The overarching principles and philosophy of our services are:
- A strength-based, needs-driven approach which requires identifying and developing the resiliency factors, skills, and natural resources of youth toward achieving their goals across life domains.
- Use of natural supports increases stability by linking the person served to his or her community.
- Team-Driven Process: While supported by staff, a multidisciplinary team - comprised of youth, family members and/or other caregivers, and community and professional support persons – is central to achieving successful outcomes.
- Cultural Competence: Attending carefully to the voice of each person served is critical for positive treatment outcomes.
- Collaborative service and treatment planning. This planning is youth driven, with youth integrally involved in developing the plan, which is implemented in collaboration with the service providers.
- Balance of Formal and Informal Services: Recognizing that a primary goal of any plan is increased self-sufficiency, a successful treatment and service plan balances formal services with informal services, with an eye toward transitioning to a greater reliance on informal supports.
- Unconditional commitment to positive outcomes for youth and families.
- Immediate response capacity to meet the needs of youth as they arise. Our programs provide 24/7 crisis response either by phone consultation or direct involvement as necessary.
